9.8.4 Receiving a Position Request

When a position request call is received from another vessel, a ringing alarm
sounds and POS REQUEST will be shown in the display. Operation and
transceiver function differs depending on " Position Reply " in the " DSC Setup "
menu.
Automatically reply:
1. When a position request call is received, a calling
alarm sounds 4 times. Then requested position
coordinates are transmitted automatically to the
vessel requesting your vessels position.
2. To exit from position request display, press the
Manually reply:
1. When a position request call is received from an-
other vessel, the display will be as shown in the
illustration at the right.
2. A ringing alarm sounds 2 minutes. To send your
vessels position to the requesting vessel, press
the
quest display, press the
GX1700
soft key. Or to exit from position re-
soft key.
