Bonnet - opening and closing

The bonnet can be opened when the handle
in the passenger compartment has been
turned clockwise and the lock by the grille has

been moved to the left.
The handle for bonnet opening is always on the
left-hand side.
Turn the handle about 20-25 degrees
clockwise. You will hear when the catch
releases.

Move the catch to the left and open the
bonnet. (The catch hook is located
between the headlamp and grille, see
illustration.)
WARNING
Check that the bonnet locks properly when
closed.

The overview shows normal checking points.
Some of the car's batteries and several of the
components included in the car's electric
drive system are located under the bonnet.
Exercise caution in this area and only touch
anything that is related to normal mainte-
nance.
WARNING
Orange cables marked with a high-voltage
decal must only be handled by qualified
personnel.
WARNING
Several components in the car operate
with lethal high-voltage electricity.
Do not touch anything that is not
clearly described in this owner's man-
ual.
Exercise caution when checking/refill-
ing fluids in the engine compartment.
