Daily operation

Adjusting the sound

Switching sound off/on
Sound off.
Sound on: Press the button again or increase the volume
using V+.
Setting the volume
V+/V– Volume louder / quieter.
The volume bar will be shown briefly if no other menu
is displayed.

Explanations of the sound settings:
Sound via Playback over the TV speakers or an external hi-fi amplifier.
The menu item Sound via only appears if HiFi/AV amplifier
or TV speakers (switchable) is set in the audio components
wizard.
Sound effects Set sound effects Stereo, Panorama, 3D Surround. Pano-
rama gives the stereo sound a virtual base widening. 3D
Surround converts a stereo signal into a virtual surround
signal.
Sound Speech, Classical, Pop, Custom music, and Custom film
adjustment sound.
Audio Set the volume of the audio commentary to be relative to
commentary the volume of the programme being transmitted. Should
volume negative values result (those in the area of -50... -1), the
audio commentary is quieter than the programme sound.
Should positive values result (those in the area of +1...
+50), the audio commentary is louder than the programme
sound. If the value 0 results, then the audio commentary
is at the exactly the same volume as the programme sound.
The menu item only appears if audio commentary is
activated (see page 38) and is offered by the current
station. Additionally, the Loudspeaker sound or Head-
phone sound must be set to normal + audio commentary
must be switched on (see next page).

Proper boost of bass and treble tones at low volume.
Loudness
If the sound does not exactly match the picture, you

synchronisation can correct it here. If you move to the left in the bar you
delay the sound in relation to the picture. If you move to
the right you accelerate it in relation to the picture. The
sound is adapted in time steps of 10ms each.
The Sound-picture synchronisation menu item only ap-
pears for DVB stations.
