The Valet Switch has several functions:
Placing your Excalibur security system into Valet Mode, which prevents it from arming.
Should your transmitter be lost or become inoperable, the Valet Switch, and the ignition key, can
be used to disarm the system with an Emergency Override.
It is also used in the procedures for programming features and programming transmitters to operate
the Excalibur system. These uses of the Valet Switch are described in the programming sections.
The Valet Switch is an important part of your Excalibur system; be sure that you know its location!
Valet Mode: Anytime that the system is disarmed, simply press and hold the Valet Switch for
2 seconds to activate the Valet Mode. The system will confirm that it is entering Valet Mode by chirping
the siren twice, flashing the parking lights twice, and the Status Light will illuminate and stay on. The
system will remain in Valet Mode until it is removed. While in Valet Mode, although the system will
not arm, the transmitters will still lock and unlock the doors, operate the remote Panic feature, 2nd
channel and 3rd channel outputs. The doors will also lock when the ignition key is turned "on" and
unlock when it is turned "off"'. While the security system is in the Valet Mode, every time the ignition
key is turned "off", the siren will chirp once as a reminder.
To turn off Valet Mode, simply press the Valet Switch; the Status Light will turn off confirming
the system's exit from Valet Mode.
Emergency Override: If the system is in the armed state or activated condition, however, it
cannot be placed into Valet Mode. Instead, an Emergency Override must used to disarm the system
(after which it may be placed into Valet Mode if desired). To perform an Emergency Override, as
