Charging the battery

The battery for your Vertu phone is rechargeable and requires charging at
regular intervals. The battery does not have to be completely discharged
before you can recharge it.
Use the charger (comprising the following three components) supplied to
charge your Vertu phone.
AC charger
>
USB data cable (to connect the AC charger and your Vertu phone)
>
International adapter plugs (for use in Japan and North America, Europe and
>
the UK)
The adaptor plugs are designed to fit outlets in the different regions where
you might be using your Vertu phone. Use the adaptor plug for Japan and
North America when charging your Vertu phone in Japan. Before you plug
it in, make sure that that the electrical rating of the AC outlet is appropriate
for the charger.
Charging the battery:
Before starting to charge your battery, make sure that the correct adaptor
plug for your wall outlet is properly connected to the charger and that the
USB data cable's connector is connected to the charger.
Make sure the data cable's USB
connector end is already connected to the
charger. Then, carefully connect the
Micro USB charger connector to your
Vertu phone as shown. Ensure that the
connector is inserted correctly, with the
connector symbol uppermost.
Then, connect the charger body to a
powered AC outlet.
Using your Vertu phone
When you start charging, the pulsing indicator (page 20) at the bottom of
your Vertu phone will be turned on (start lighting permanently). Also, when
your Vertu phone is powered on, a notification message is displayed for a
few seconds, and then the battery charge indicator (page 19) at the above
right of the display starts animating to indicate the current charging progress.

is still indicated in green. (And then, when the charger cable is removed from
your Vertu phone, the icon (

The six dots (

current battery charge. The more dots that stop flashing, the more complete the
battery charge. The colour of dots also indicate the current battery charge level.
When the dots are displayed in green or grey (while flashing), the battery is not
yet charged up to that level. When the dots are displayed in grey (without
flashing), the battery has been charged up to that level.
Always charge the battery until it is fully charged. When the battery is fully
charged, the pulsing indicator (page 20) will either slowly flash or go out. If
your Vertu phone is switched on, the battery indicator will stop flashing and
a confirmation message is displayed on the screen.
The charging time will vary with different power sources, and we
recommend the Vertu charger is always used.
Tip: You can also charge the battery by connecting your Vertu phone
and your PC using a USB data cable.
