Transfer contents from another Vertu phone
You can use a Bluetooth connection or a USB data cable to transfer
Contacts, Calendar and other data from a different (older) Vertu phone to
your Vertu phone. There are several different ways to do this, such as:
Using the Sync and backup (Phone switch) feature
>
When you open your Vertu phone and select Menu » Settings » Sync and
backup » Phone switch » Copy to this from the Home screen, it is possible to
transfer from another Vertu phone to your Vertu phone any or all of the following
data: Contacts, Calendar, Text messages, E-mails, Notes. To use this feature,
both Vertu phones must have Bluetooth (page 49) enabled, and the other Vertu
phone must support this feature. If you are uncertain as to whether your Vertu
phone supports this feature, or if you have any other questions about the
process, contact Vertu Customer Service (page 34).
Select individual data on an older Vertu phone and transfer it using Bluetooth to
>
your Vertu phone
Individual data such as a Contacts entry, Calendar entry, Notes file, image file,
video clip, music file, etc., can be sent using Bluetooth from one Vertu phone to
another. In order for the phones to be able to send data back and forth, they
must be paired. Refer to "Bluetooth" (page 49) for more information.
Using Bluetooth, you may also be able to send / receive multiple files of certain
format at the same time. For example, you can mark several image files in Gallery
at the same time and send them at once from one Vertu phone to another.
Using Vertu PC Suite's synchronisation feature
>
If you connect your older Vertu phone to a PC using Bluetooth or a USB data
cable and then use Vertu PC Suite's (page 52) synchronisation feature to
synchronise any or all of Contacts, Calendar and Notes data to the PC, you can
then connect your new Vertu phone to the PC and use the same synchronisation
feature to update your new phone with a set of Contacts, Calendar and / or Notes
data which are currently on the PC.
Using Vertu PC Suite's backup feature
>
As with the synchronisation feature above, you can connect an older Vertu
phone to your PC and use Vertu PC Suite's backup feature to back up any
necessary data to your PC. After that, you can then connect your new Vertu
phone and use the same backup feature to restore the data (a set of the data
already backed up on the PC) to it. Using this feature allows you to manage the
target data for backup or restoration by classifications, such as phone memory
user files, Contacts, Calendar, Notes, Text messages, Settings, Bookmarks,
etc., so you can only restore the data you need. Note that you may not be able
to restore some or all types of data, if your phone models are different.
