Memory management

Your Vertu phone has two internal memories - the phone memory and an
internal memory card.
The internal memory card provides much more space for storing data than
the phone memory, either 8 GB or 32 GB depending on your phone model.
When you receive your Vertu phone for the first time, the internal memory
card is specified as the default storage location of such files as pictures /
video clips taken with Camera or sound clips recorded with Voice recorder
(Menu » Tools » Voice recorder).
The internal memory card also stores map data used by the World Maps
application (page 51). When your Vertu phone leaves our workshop, a full
set of map data covering every country and region in the world are pre-
installed on the internal memory card.
Viewing contents of internal memory card
You can quickly review the files stored on the internal memory card by
opening Gallery (page 46). When Gallery is opened, you can see the folder
named "Media" in the uppermost row, which represents the top level folder
of the internal memory card.
1. From the Home screen, select Menu » Gallery.
2. To view the contents of internal memory card, move the cursor to the
Media folder at the top and select Open.
3. From the displayed folders, open the desired folders and select the files
you want.
Tip: When your Vertu phone leaves our workshop, the folder shown at the
top of Gallery is named as "Media". If necessary, you can change this
name following the steps below. Note that except where otherwise needed,
this folder is referred to in this document as the "Media folder".
1. From the Home screen, select Menu » Gallery.

You can also use a USB data cable (page 56) or Bluetooth (page 49) to
connect your Vertu phone and a compatible PC. Once connected, you can
launch the File manager application from Vertu PC Suite (page 52) to review
the files of both phone memory and internal memory card from your PC, or if
necessary, transfer them back and forth between your Vertu phone and PC.
Or, if you are using a USB data cable, you can also select the Data storage
mode (one of the USB modes available on your Vertu phone), when you see
the "Select USB mode:" screen on the phone as soon as you connect the
USB data cable to your PC. When this mode is selected, you can review
the files on the internal memory card from your PC without using Vertu PC
Suite, and when necessary, you can transfer data back and forth between
the internal memory card and your PC.
The internal memory card offers you relatively a large amount of space for
saving data, compared with the phone memory. However, it does not mean
that its free space is always limitless. When the memory is full, a confirmation
message is displayed, prompting you to delete unnecessary files. We
recommend that you always try to keep enough available memory space
on the phone.
If your internal memory card is full, the envelope icon (
the top of the Home screen. If this happens, you will not be able to send or
receive messages. You need to delete something from your internal
memory card to ensure that you can still continue to receive new messages.
This could be messages, images, video clips or music files.
Note: The internal memory card cannot be removed from your Vertu
phone.
