Prestige 316 Broadband Sharing Gateway/Wireless LAN
The following table describes the fields NOT already described in Table 4-1 already.

Table 4-2 Fields in Menu 11.1 (PPTP/PPPoE Encapsulation Specific Only)

FIELD
Encapsulation
Toggle [SPACE BAR] to choose PPTP/PPPoE. You must also go to
Menu 11.3 to check the IP address setting once you have selected the
encapsulation method.
Authen
This field sets the authentication protocol used for outgoing calls. Your
Prestige supports two authentication protocols: PAP (Password
Authentication Protocol) and CHAP (Challenge Handshake
Authentication Protocol).
PAP sends the user name and password in plain text.
CHAP scrambles the password before it is sent over the wire.
Generally speaking, CHAP is more secure than PAP, however, PAP is
readily available on more platforms. The recommendation is to use
CHAP whenever possible.
Options for this field are:
CHAP/PAP – your Prestige will try CHAP when CHAP is requested
by the Remote Node or PAP when PAP is requested by the Remote
Node.
CHAP – use CHAP only.
PAP – use PAP only.
PPTP: My IP
Enter the IP address of the WAN Ethernet port.
Addr
PPTP: Server
Enter the IP address of the ANT modem.
IP Addr
PPTP:
Enter the connection ID or name in the ANT. It must follow the "c:id" and

"n:name" format. This field is optional and depends on the requirements
ID/ Name
of your xDSL modem.
Telco Option:
This field sets a ceiling for outgoing call time for this remote node. The
Allocated
default for this field is 0 meaning no budget control.
Budget (min)
Telco Option:
This field is the time period that the budget should be reset. For
Period (hr)
example, if we are allowed to call this remote node for a maximum of 10
minutes every hour, then the Allocated Budget is (10 minutes) and the
Period (hr) is 1 (hour).

You can apply up to 4 schedule sets here. For more details, please refer
Schedules
to the chapter on Call Schedule Setup.
