By implementing PPPoE directly on the Prestige 316 rather than individual PC's, the machines on the LAN
do not need PPPoE software installed, since the Prestige 316 does that part of the task.
If you enable PPPoE in Menu 4, you will see the next screen. For more information on PPPoE, please see the
Appendices.
FIELD
Encapsulation Press [SPACE BAR] and then press [ENTER] to choose PPPoE. The
encapsulation method influences your choices for IP address.
Service Name Enter the PPPoE service name provided to you. PPPoE uses a
service name to identify and reach the PPPoE server.
Idle Timeout This value specifies the time in seconds that elapses before the
Prestige automatically disconnects from the PPPoE server.
