MAINTENANCE
INSTRUCTIONS
SHARPENING STANDARD BLADE(S)
Blades should be kept sharp at all times. When the
blade(s) are dull, cut grass will be ragged and lawn will
usuallyturn brown.Sharpen standard bladesas follows:
Move tractorto a firm, level surface.
Tum engine "OFF'.
Raise hood,remove spark plug wire from sparkplug and
secure wire away from plug.
Remove mowing deck from tractor.
Remove mower blade(s)
Inspectfor excessivewear or damage.

Never use a blade that shows signs of
exceaslve wear or damage. Refer to Figure
52 for standard blade wear limits.
Sharpen standard mower blade(s) at 25° angle+3°. See
Figure 56.

BLADE WEAR LIMITS
The Ninja
TM
recyclingblade requiresmore frequent ser-
vice intervals than standard blades. Check the Ninja
TM
recyclingblade for excessivewear or damage afterevery
use. See Figure 57.
NINJA

BLADE SHARPENING
The Ninja
TM
recycling blade requires more frequent
sharpening than standard blades due to its recycling
method.
Remove the Ninja
TM
blade by followingproceduresfor
standard blade removal.
Inspectthe Ninja
TM
bladefor excessivewear or damage.
