OPERATING

Make the followingchecks and perform service as re-
quiredbeforeeach start-up.
Check tires and add air as needed to bringpressure to
12psi in fronttires and 10 psi in rear tires. If guards are
missingor damaged, Replace BEFORE usingmower.
Checkguards,deflectorsand coversto make sure all are
in place and securelytightened.
Check engineoil. Addoil as neededtobringup to, but not
over,thefullmark. Refer tothe engineowner'smanualfor
oil specifications.
Check operator'sseat adjustment.Adjustas necessary.
Check blade engagement lever to insure it operates
properly.The blade engagement lever must be moved
manuallyfrom "ON" to "OFF"to stop blade.

Clean exteriorsurfacesof cutting deck, engineandtractor
from any accumulation of grass clippingsand debris.
Keep engineair intake screensand cooling finscleanat all
times.
Withengine "OFF"move the tractoroutsideand add fuel
to the fuel tank. Securely tightenfuel cap after refueling.
See Figure 4. Refer to engine owner's manual for fuel
specifications.

FRONT TO REAR ADJUSTMENT
With engine"OFF", raise operator'sseat and loosenthe
two adjustingknobs on the seat support.See Figure5.
Lowerthe seat.
LOOSEN ADJUSTING
KNOBS TO ADJUST SEAT
Sit in the operator's seat and slide the seat forward or
backward until the clutch/brake pedal can be fully de-
pressedcomfortably.
Raise seat and tightenthe adjustingknobstosecure seat
in position.
