MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
STANDARD MOWER BLADE SERVICE Continued
SHARPENING STANDARD BLADE(S)
Blades should be kept sharp at all times. When the
blade(s) are dull, cut grass will be ragged and lawn will
usually turn brown. Sharpen standard blades as follows:
Move tractor to a firm, level surface.
Turn engine "OFP.
Raise hood, remove spark plug wire from spark plug and
secure wire away from plug.
Remove mowing deck from tractor.
Remove mower blade(s)
Inspect for excessive wear or damage.
WARNING
Never use a blade that shows signs of
excessive wear or damage. Refer to Figure
52 for standard blade wear limits.
Sharpen standard mower blade(s) at 25° angle ±3°. See
Figure 56.

NINJA™ BLADE WEAR LIMITS
The Ninja™ recycling blade requires more frequent ser¬
vice intervals than standard blades. Check the Ninja™
recycling blade for excessive wear or damage after every
use. See Figure 57.
NINJA™ BLADE SHARPENING
The Ninja™ recycling blade requires more frequent
sharpening than standard blades due to its recycling
method.
Remove the Ninja™ blade by following procedures for
standard blade removal.
Inspect the Ninja™ blade for excessive wear or damage.
See Figure 57 for Ninja™ blade wear limits.
