_Important:
Recording a currentbroadcast
Beforeyou begin,you needto knowhow:
• to view the picture
coming from your VCR. (See page 23.)
To record a TV program
that is; currently
playing:
O
Load a tape with its erasure
tab intact into the VCR.
O
If you have not already
done so, set the speed at which you
would like to record.
(See "Selecting
and adjusting
the audio
and video functions"
on page 35.)
O
Set the VCR's input to tuner.
To do this, press the INPUT
button
on the remote
until the channel
number
shows on-
screen or on the front panel
display.
(If you would like to
record channels
from a Primestar
receNer,
press the INPUT
button
until the channel
number
with the :Primestar
light
appears
on the front panel display.)
O
Select the channel
you would like to record by using the
CHANNEL
button
or the number
buttons.
(If you are using a
cable box that the VCR cannot
control, select channel
3 or 4
on the VCR, and change
the channel
on the cable box, not on
the VCR.)
Press the record button
(REC) on the remoLe control
or the
record button
(RECiOTR)
on the front panel of the VCR.
Recording
will start.
When you reach the end cf the tape, the
VCR will automatically
rewind.
You can stop recording
at any
time by pressing
the PLAY/STOP
or PAUSE
button
on the remote
or the PLAY/STOP
button
on the front panel. To resume
record-
ing from STOP, press the REC or REC!OTR
button.
To resume
recording
from PAUSE,
press the PAUSE
button.
(You cannot use
the REC/OTR
button
to resume
recording
from PAUSE.)
If you pause
the VCR fi)r five minutes,
recordii:g
will stop auto-
matically
to protect
the tape. If you record in extended
play (EP),
you will only be able to play the tape on a VCR equipped
for EP
play, such as this one. If you attempt
to record on a tape that has
had its erasure
prevent:ion
tab :removed, the VCR will eject the
tape.
Programmingyour VCRto record
You can program
your VCR to record with the ]lelp of Mitsubishi's
on-screen
operating
system.
You can schedule
up to eight record-
ing "events"
within
a one month period.
Before you begin, you must:
• know how to view the picture
coming from your VCR; (See
page 23) and
• have set the clock. (See page 27)
