cannot
change
channels
on the cable box. You will need to change
channels
yourself,
using the cable box's remote
control. You
should
re-program
your VCP, choosing
"Cable" in step O on page
30. When programming
to record, you will need to leave your
cable box ON and tuned to the channel
you wish to record.
If you connected
a satellite
receiver,
press the CHANNEL
Num-
ber buttons
to see that the TV shows the channels
coming from
the receiver.
If it does not, try repositioning
or moving the satel-
lite receiver.
Automatic
programming
may include
vacan:
channels
if there are
stray signals
or noise on those channels.
If this occurs, you can
manually
delete the channels
using the pro(:edure
in the section
"Adding
and deleting
channels."
Using video mute
When you turn
video mute ON, any blank section
of tape, or any
station
with a weak signal,
will be replaced
_y a blue screen.
The
sound will also be turned
off. If there is a tkae when you would
like to try to tune in a weak station,
turn video mute OFF.
Beforeyou begin,you should know how:
• to view the picture
coming from your VCR; (see page 23)
• to use the menus.

Press the MENU
button
on the remote
control. The '°VCR
Main Menu" appears
on your TV.

Use the ADJUST
buttons
on the remote
to select "Customize
choices." Press the ENTER
button.

The "Customize
choices" menu appears
on your screen.
Use
the ADJUST
buttons
to _elect Wideo mute." Then, press the
ENTER
button
to set video mute to ON or OFF.
Press the MENU
button
once to return
to the "VCR Main
Menu" menu; press the FIENU button
a second time to turn
off the menus.
Addingand deletingchannels
If necessary,
you can manually
add or delete
channels
afl;er you
have completed
the automatic
channel
progn'amming.
(You cannot
do this for channels
coming ;¥om a satellite
:eceiver.)
