Use the number
buttons
to enter the actual
VCR channel
on
which you receive the station.
For example,
if your VCR
receives
HBO on channel
27, enter the n umber "27" next to
the VCR Plus+ guide channel
for HBO.
If you are using
a cable box that the VC}I cannot
control,
enter the channel
on which your cable box sends signals
to
your VCR (usually
channel
3 or 4).
To change
more guide channel
numbers,
repeat
steps O and
O. When you are finished,
press the MENU
button
three
times to exit the menus.

Recordinga current broadcast
Before you begin, you need to know how:
• to view the picture
coming from your VCR. (See p;tge 25.)
To record
a TV program
that is currently
playing:
O
Load a tape with its erasure
tab intact
into the VCR. If you
ha%,e not yet recorded
o_ this tape, the VCR will test the tape
with the PerfecTape
feature.

Set the VCR's input to tuner.
To do this, press the INPUT
button
on the front panel or on the remote
until the channel
display
shows on-screen
or on the front panel.
O
If you have not already
done so, set the speed at which you
would like to record. (See "Selecting
and adjusting
the audio
and video functions"
on page 29.)
O
Select the channel
you would like to record by using the
CHANNEL
button
or the jog dial on the front panel. (If you
are using a cable box that the VCR cannot control,
select
channel
3 or 4 on the VCR, and change
the channel
on the
cable box, not on the VC R.)
