Flexible Program
In mode
P, different
combinations
of shutter
speed and aperture
can be selected
by rotating
the command
dial ("flexible
program").
Wh le flexible
program
is in effect, an asterisk (ILK) appears next to the
mode
indicator
(P) in the monitor.
• Rotate
the command
dial to the right for large apertures
(small
hnumbers)
that
blur background
details
or fast shutter
speeds
that "freeze" motion.

• Rotate
the command
dial to the left for small apertures
(large
f num bets) that increase depth
of field or slow shutter speeds that

blur motion.
• To restore
default
shutter
speed
and aperture
settings,
rotate the
command
dial until the _
asterisk
next to the mode
indicator
is
no longer
displayed.
Selecting
another
mode, or turning
off the
camera, also restores default
shutter
speed and aperture
settings.

on Shutter
Speed
When Multi-shot
16 is selected
for Continuous
(_118)
the fastest
shutter
speed
is changed
to
1/2500 second,
and the slowest
shutter
speed
is restricted
to 1/30 second.
