Removing the Battery
Turn the camera off and confirm that tile power on
lamp and tile monitor are off before opening tile
battery chanlber/nlemory card slot cover.
To eject the battery, open the battery chamber/
memory card slot cover and slide the orange battery
latch in the direction shown k_.The battery can then be
renloved by hand _.
• Note that the battery may become hot during use;
observe due caution when removing the battery.
Turning On and Off the Camera
Remove tile lens cap before turning on tile camera. Press
tile power switch to turn on tile canlera. Tile power on
lamp(green) will light for a nlonlent and the nlonitorwill
turn on.
Pressing the power switch when the power on lamp
(green) or the monitor is lighted up will turn offthe
caFrlera.
• When the camera is off, holding down the [] button will turn the camera on in
playback mode ([_[]]30).
• IfLenserror is@splayed, checkthatthe lenscap has been renloved and turn the
camera on again.
[] Auto Power Off while in Shooting Mode (Standby Mode)
If no operations are per_rmed _r about a minute (de_ult setting), the monitor will turn off
automatically and the camera will enter standby mode. if no operations are performed for another
three minutes, the camera will turn off automatically (auto off function).
if the monitor is off in standby mode, press the power switch or the shutter release button to
reactivate it.
• The time allowed to elapse before the camera enters standby mode can be changed from the
Auto off option (_146) in the setup menu (_135),
