Model D2424LVmkII Reference Manual (Formatting and Optimizing Disks)
The following procedure shows how to format a CompactFlash
hard disk instead of a CompactFlash
a CompactFlash
TM
card or E-IDE hard disk, see page 96.
(1)
Press the [SETUP] key to put the recorder into
Setup mode.
(2)
Turn the Jog dial to select the "Disk Format?" menu
and press the [EXECUTE/YES] key.
"IDE1" flashes.
To format a CompactFlash
disk) for backup, you have to select "IDE2".

Use the Jog dial to select flashing "IDE2" and press
the [EXECUTE/YES] key.
The display shows the name of the CompactFlash
card currently set to the CF drive, as well as flashing
"?" and "SURE?".

When an E-IDE hard disk is set as a
backup medium, the name of the hard disk
drive is shown.

Press the [EXECUTE/YES] key again.
The display shows the backup format mode (by
default, "DOS Format").
You can select the backup format mode between
"DOS Format" and "24bit Backup" or "16bit Backup"
depending on the bit depth setting of the current
drive.
To enable WAV file saving/loading, select "DOS
Format". To enable FDMS-3 saving /loading, select
"24bit Backup" (or "16bit Backup").

The same figures in quantization of the current
drive will be displayed for quantization of the
backup format. Thus, when the current drive is
24bit, " 24bit Backup? " will be displayed, and for
16bit, " 16bit Backup? " will be displayed.

press the [EXECUTE/YES] key while holding down
the [RECORD] key.
