8. RAID - Four Disk Server

Four disks within the 5big Storage Server offers plentiful storage as
well as additional protection for data. Since the setup is similar to
two and three disks configurations, this section will offer references
to other chapters.
8.1. Four Disk Suggested RAID
Configuration
While it is possible to create Spanned disks or a RAID 0 array, LaCie
highly recommends mirroring and RAID 5 for optimal protection of
your data. RAID 0 can offer some speed advantages but data will
not be protected across multiple volumes as with mirroring and RAID
5. Users risk losing data if one of the disks should fail with RAID 0.
