TROUBLESHOOTING
Alarm or Condition
The UPS does not start.
The UPS operates normally,
but some or all of the
protected equipment is not
on.
Battery test did not run or
was interrupted.
The UPS does not transfer to
Bypass mode.
USB communication does not
work.

Possible Cause
The power cord is not
connected correctly.
The Remote Emergency
Power-off (REPO) switch is
active or the REPO connector is
missing.
The equipment is not connected
correctly to the UPS.
One of the conditions listed in
"Running Automatic Battery
Tests" on page 52 was not
present.
The bypass utility does not
qualify.
Bypass mode is disabled.
The serial port communication
speed is set incorrectly for USB.
USB requires 9600 bps.

Action
Check the power cord connections.
If the UPS Status menu displays the "Remote
Emergency Power Off" notice, inactivate the REPO
input.
Verify that the equipment is plugged into the UPS
receptacles.
Resolve the condition, then restart the test.
Check the bypass utility. The UPS is receiving
bypass utility power that may be unstable or in
brownout conditions.
Check that the Bypass settings are configured
correctly. See "Configuring Bypass Settings" on
page 48.
Check that the "Serial Port Configuration" setting is
set to 9600 bps. See "User Settings" on page 40.
