Copy Policy

The copy policy is a feature of the D2Any2Any option that allows automatic creation, configuration, and
scheduling of copy jobs for media created by a backup job. When used with a rotation, this provides
great flexibility for extending duplication of media for a wide variety of use cases, such as copying a
weekly backup to tape for off site storage. When used without a rotation, it provides a simple yet
powerful way for users to duplicate media in small business environments with simpler backup needs.

License Requirements

The D2Any2Any license is required to configure an automatic copy policy. If Data Protector Express is
installed in evaluation mode, you will be able to use the D2Any2Any option for the 60-day duration of
the evaluation license.
NOTE:
At the end of the evaluation period, the D2Any2Any option will be disabled and the copy policy part
of the job will no longer run on any backup jobs that you have created. You must install a D2Any2Any
option license if you want to continue using the copy policy.
Configuring a Copy Policy
You define a copy policy using the Copy Policy page in a backup job's properties.
