Customizing Dragon NaturallySpeaking
Allow pauses while speaking numbers and phrases: Allows number and phrase
formatting to work together if you pause while speaking a number.
Automatically add commas and periods: Tells Dragon NaturallySpeaking to add
commas and periods (full stop outside USA or Canada) at the appropriate places
in your dictation without your having to explicitly speak that punctuation.
Dictation with this feature turned on should duplicate the same natural pauses
for commas and periods that you typically use in conversational speech. If
commas and periods consistently do not appear where you expect them, try
changing the length of your pauses. For example, if you normally speak rapidly,
try to lengthen the time of your pauses to indicate the need for punctuation.
Enable postal code commands: Specifies the format of Canadian and UK postal
codes in your dictation.
For example, to format a postal code in London, say "London Comma Post
Code W Two Four R J" to enter London, W2 4RJ; and to format a postal code in
Toronto, say "Toronto Comma Ontario Post Code M Five H Two L Two" to
enter Toronto, Ontario M5H 2L2.
Note: You must reload your user before a change to this option will take effect.
Insert two spaces after period: Adds two spaces after the end of a sentence
instead of a single space. Having two spaces at the end of a sentence was a
standard with mono space fonts when most text was written with typewriters,
but is less common with proportional fonts used in word processing programs.
Clear this check box to add only one space.
Restore defaults
The Restore defaults button restores the values of the Formatting tab to what they
were when you installed Dragon NaturallySpeaking.

Time: Turns on automatic formatting of standard time formats. For
example, if you say "Six Thirty PM", Dragon NaturallySpeaking will
transcribe "6:30 p.m."
Dates: Turns on automatic formatting of dates according to the format you
select in the list just below the option.
Currency: Turns on automatic formatting of standard forms of currency,
such as dollars. For example, if you say "Six Dollars and Seventy Five
Cents", Dragon NaturallySpeaking will transcribe "$6.75."
Other numbers: Enables the formatting of all numbers not covered by other
options on this dialog box, such as negative numbers, numbers with
punctuation, fractions, decimals, and roman numerals. For example, if you
say "Ten Thousand", Dragon NaturallySpeaking will transcribe "10,000."
