With the use of overrides, a button can control not just the next destination, but the subsequent destination as well.
Therefore, with careful planning, you can dynamically change the path through the DVD according to what the
viewer has just seen.
You can also specify the link for a button by dragging the destination element from the Project tab onto the button
in the Menu Editor.

To specify the default button for a menu
Each time a menu appears, one button appears highlighted (selected) for the viewer. You specify this default button
in the Properties panel for the menu. When a link leads to a menu, it may designate that a different button appear
highlighted. This link setting replaces the default button only for that viewing of the menu.
In the Project panel, select the desired menu from the list of assets.

In the Properties panel, from the Default Button menu, select the number of the button that you want to be

For menus that let the viewer select audio and subtitle tracks, you can choose to highlight the active track's button,
as a point of reference for the viewer. Choose Active Audio Track or Active Subtitle Track from the Default Button
menu.
To set button navigation
In the Menus panel, double-click the menu to open it in the Menu Editor.
1
Select the button for which you want to set links. (Use the Selection tool
2

In the Properties panel, specify a destination for Link. Adobe Encore DVD displays the new link in the Properties

panel using the format Menu:Button or Timeline:Chapter.
If you want to change the end action for the Link set in step 3, select a destination for Override in the Properties

panel.

To set timeline navigation
The Properties panel lets you set links for a selected timeline. Links from a timeline let you specify a menu or timeline
to link to when the timeline finishes playing and when the viewer selects the Menu button on the remote control.
You generally set this button to return the viewer to the last menu accessed, that is, the menu that brought the viewer
to this timeline.
In the Project tab, select the desired timeline.
