Note: Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects can export markers in AVI and MPEG-2 files. Adobe Encore DVD
uses the markers to create chapter points. (See "Importing from Adobe Premiere Pro" on page 66.)
Open the timeline to which you want to add chapter points.

Choose Window > Monitor to view the video as you add chapter points.

Move the current-time indicator to the frame where you want a chapter point.
If you are working with MPEG-2 or other video that you have already transcoded, click either the Skip Forward

button
or the Skip Backward button
chapter points only land on GOP headers in transcoded video.
Choose Timeline > Add Chapter Point, or click the Add Chapter button

Viewer.
You can also add chapter points while the timeline plays. Press the asterisk (*) key to add a chapter point.
To add chapter points at intervals
Open the timeline to which you want to add chapter points.

Choose Timeline > Add Chapter Points At Intervals.
Specify the interval at which to add chapter points. The interval value must be lower than the timeline duration.

Indicate whether you want to remove existing chapter points, and then click OK.

To delete chapter points
Open the timeline containing the chapter point or points you want to delete.

Select the chapter point you want to delete, or Shift-drag over multiple chapter points to delete adjacent points.
Press the Delete key.

To move chapter points
Open the timeline containing the chapter points you want to move.

Do one of the following:

Drag the chapter point to the desired location in the ruler.
Shift-drag over the chapter points you want to move. Release the Shift key and drag any of the selected points to
move them all as a unit.
The Monitor panel updates to display the chapter point's new position.
Note: You cannot move the first chapter point, which marks the beginning of the timeline.
To name and describe chapter points
Select the desired chapter point in either the Timeline Viewer or the Timeline tab.

In the Properties panel, type a new name for the chapter point.
Enter any notes about the chapter point for Description.
