Audio clips

About multiple audio clips
While you can have as many as eight audio tracks, remember that the DVD player can play only one of them at a
time. Because two audio tracks cannot play simultaneously, all audio tracks need to be complete within themselves.
For example, if you want the same background music and sound effects to be heard in each dubbed language track,
you must mix them with the voice track before you import them into a project. You can use an audio-editing appli-
cation, such as Adobe Audition, to combine audio sound effects, music, and dialog into a single audio clip.
Timeline with multiple audio tracks
You can place audio files on separate tracks, or you can place multiple audio files on the same track. Although an
audio clip initially snaps to the beginning of the track, you can subsequently reposition it or trim it if necessary. The
Track Selector to the left of the track name lets you activate a track so that you can control which track you hear when
playing the timeline.
To have audio play while a menu displays, see "About motion menus" on page 103.

2

Timeline > New Timeline.
To add the audio clip to a new audio track in an existing timeline, drag an audio clip from the Project panel to the
timeline, just below the video track or the last audio track. (To add a blank audio track, select the Timeline Viewer
