mode.

Windows NT Event Log states:
The Host Bus Adapter in slot %1
has averaged more than %2
Elastic Store Errors over the five
seconds. The loop has become
unstable. The adapter has been
taken offline.

Problem
You are using ACU to expand
capacity.
ICL has failed.
Mismatched firmware on the
array controllers.
Failover may have occurred.
Cache modules on the array
controllers do not match.
GBIC-SW laser has malfunctioned.
Possible Cause
Action
The firmware will automatically
put the RA4000 in nonredundant
mode during capacity expansion.
This is normal behavior.
Check Windows NT Event Log to
determine if the ICL (interconnect
link) to has failed.

Check to make sure the
firmware version levels
match.
2.
If they do not match, use
Options ROMPaq to update
the firmware.
Check to see if a failover has
occurred. It is normal behavior for
a drive rebuild to restart if a
failover has occurred.
Obtain and replace cache module
so that cache levels match on
both array controllers.

for instructions on replacing
a GBIC-SW.
