Long Inactivity Of The Vehicle - APRILIA RS 50 - 1995 Manual

If the vehicle has to remain inactive for several months,
we advise:
-
clean and protect the painted parts with polish;
-
disconnect the battery terminals;
-
check the state of battery charge every one and a
half months.
If it has to be recharged, use a slow charge to avoid
damaging the battery;
-
remove all the fuel from the tank and empty the car-
burettor float chamber;
-
remove the spark plug and pour 5 c.c. of oil into the
cylinder.
Then replace the spark plug and pull the starting lever a
few times without inserting the key so as to spread the
oil over the walls of the cylinders;
-
check the tyre pressure from time to time;
-
oil the chain.

Si le véhicule n'est pas utilisé pendant plusieurs mois, il
est conseillé de:
-
nettoyer et protéger les pièces vernies avec des cires
appropriées;
-
débrancher les pôles de la batterie;
-
contrôler l'état de charge de la batterie tous les mois
et demie. Pour une éventuelle recharge, utiliser une
charge lente pour ne pas endommager la batterie.
-
ôter complètement le carburant du réservoir et vi-
danger la cuve du carburateur;
-
retirer la bougie et verser une cuillère d'huile à l'inté-
rieur du cylindre.
Puis remonter la bougie et actionner plusieurs fois le le-
vier de démarrage à clé débranchée pour répandre l'-
huile sur les parois du cylindre;
-
contrôler périodiquement la pression des pneus;
-
graisser la chaîne.
