■ MBF-7/ MBF-9 installation
The optional fl ush mount kit is for mounting the transceiver to a fl at surface (MBF-7: Less
than 25 mm thick, MBF-9: Less than 35 mm thick), such as an instrument panel.
L The MBF-7 is used as an example.
NOTE: Install the transceiver and/or microphone more than 1 meter from the vessel's
magnetic navigation compass.
1.
Attach the 2 bolts (5 × 8 mm) and spacer supplied
with the MBF-7 to both sides of the transceiver.
2.
Using the template on page 114, carefully cut a
hole in the instrument panel, or wherever you plan
to mount the transceiver.
3.
Place the flush mount gasket between the
transceiver and the instrument panel to prevent
water ingress, and slide the transceiver through
the hole, as shown on the right.
4.
Fully loosen the locking nut attached to the clamp.
5.
Insert the clamps between the supplied
bolts and the instrument control panel,
and then tighten the supplied bolts so
that the clamps press firmly against the
inside of the instrument control panel.
(Torque: 2 N•m)
L Make sure that the clamps align
parallel to the transceiver body.
6.
Tighten the end bolts on the clamps (rotate
clockwise).
