WLAN SETTINg
D Client mode
The IC-M510/IC-M510E works as a client device in an existing wireless network. In this case,
the IC-M510 and your mobile devices must belong to the same wireless network.
L Use the Client mode, if the connection is failed or poor when using the Access Point mode.

Required information on joining your WLAN
• SSID (Network name)
• Password
L The Security type of the IC-M510/IC-M510E WLAN function is set to WPA2/WPA as default.
You may be required to change the Security type or the default gateway settings, depending on
your network environment. Ask your network administrator for details on your WLAN settings.
D Installation overview
You can connect your mobile device to the IC-M510/IC-M510E through a wireless LAN
(WLAN) by the following steps.
Step 1 On the transceiver:
1.
Turn ON the WLAN function (p. 88).
2.
Select a WLAN connecting mode, the Access Point mode or the Client mode
(pp. 90, 91).
3.
Enter the required information on configuring the IC-M510/IC-M510E WLAN in the
Access Point mode or joining your WLAN in the Client mode.
Step 2 On the mobile device (p. 92):
L The setting procedure depends on the mobile device model or its OS version.
1.
Download the RS-M500 to your mobile device.
2.
Open the wireless LAN setting screen of your mobile device, and then find the
access point name (SSID) that you set to your transceiver.
3.
Enter the password, and then join the mobile device to the wireless network.
4.
Open the RS-M500 application.
L The RS-M500 automatically searches and connects to the transceiver.
