■ Making an Individual call to an AIS target

You can transmit an Individual call to a selected AIS target, without entering the target's
MMSI code. In this case, the call type is automatically set to Routine.

You can compose an Individual call to an AIS target selected on the Plotter screen or the
AIS list.
NOTE: The IC-M510/IC-M510E can be input AIS information from the built-in AIS
receiver (if built in) or an external NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000 sentence source.

Select the AIS target from the Plotter screen, the
Target List, the Friends List, or the Danger list
(pp. 52, 55).
DSC

Push

• "Compose Non-Distress" screen is displayed.

Select "Channel," then push [ENT] or [CH/ENT] to
display the Voice channel selection screen.

Select a channel to assign, and then push [ENT] or
[CH/ENT].
Call
5.
Push
to send the Individual call.
6.
When you receive an Acknowledgment "Able to
comply", an alarm sounds. Push
the alarm.
• The channel assigned in step 4 is automatically
selected.
L If the called station cannot use the channel that you
assigned, a diff erent channel is selected by the other
station.

Hold down [PTT] to communicate.
D Using an AIS transponder
When the optional MA-510TR CLASS B AIS TRANSPONDER is connected to the transceiver,
you can transmit an Individual call to a selected AIS target and the voice channel on the
transponder.

NOTE: To ensure correct operation of the DSC function, make sure you correctly set the
CH70 SQL Level. (p. 47)
