Remote Start

3-wire Remote Start
The 3-wire start circuit consists of one common, a signal
closed to common when a start is requested, and a
signal closed to common when a start is not requested.
Because the two signals are opposite polarity, a broken
wire or shorted wire can be detected.
If either signal indicates a start is requested, the
generator will start. If a broken or shorted wire is
detected, the generator will start, an alarm will be set,
and the generator will continue to run until the fault
condition is resolved.
Per NEC 695.14(F) and 700.10(D), the generator(s) must
start upon loss of integrity in the 3-wire start circuits.
NOTE: See Table 2-2 for Remote Start connections.
NOTE: 3-wire start is only supported in the controller
firmware available after June 30, 2020.

2-wire Remote Start
The 2-wire start circuit consists of one common and a
signal closed to common when a start is requested.
If the signal indicates a start is requested, the generator
will start. There is no way to detect a broken or shorted
signal.
