Note The CX-Process Tool will not start with FinsGateway as the selected commu-
nications driver unless the FinsGateway Embedded Version 3 or higher has
been installed in the computer.
1. Select Program, Omron CX-Process Tool, and CX-Process Tool from
the Windows START Menu. The following dialog box will appear to select
the communications driver.
Note Always select FinsGateway when using the CX-Process Monitor
Plus. The CX-Process Monitor Plus will not be able to go online with
the PLC if CX-Server is selected.
2. Select either FinsGateway or CX-Server as the communications driver and
click the OK Button. The following screen will appear.

The CX-Process Tool incorporates the following basic screen layout.
Main Screen Split into Left and Right Panes
The left pane displays a data hierarchy tree. The left pane is called the naviga-
tion area. The right pane displays the following items.
• Normal Display Mode: ITEMs in function blocks selected in the navigation
area are displayed.
• Edit Block Diagram Mode: Software connections in the block diagram se-
lected in the navigation area are displayed.
• Edit Step Ladder Program Mode: The Step Ladder Program Block selected
in the navigation area is displayed.
