Basic software procedures
▶ Select Dashboard on the left side.
▶ Click on Firmware Update to open the Firmware Management page to
update the firmware.
▶ In the Update tab, click on BMC.
▶ Under Choose Requirements you can select requirements.
By default, the firmware update process preserves the existing
configuration, SDR, and SSL certificates for the new BMC firmware. You can
unselect any of the preservation options if applicable.
Select the Backup existing image option to backup existing BMC or BIOS
images. The backup image will be used for auto-recovery in case of a
firmware integrity check fails at any time. You can also manually recover
BMC or BIOS from the backup image. Go to the inventory page to manually
recover BMC or BIOS. Non-ROT platforms will not display the Backup
existing image option.
▶ Click Next.
▶ Click Select File to select the new BMC firmware file and click Upload.
▶ Wait for the upload process to complete, which might take a few minutes.
▶ Verify the new firmware version and click Update to perform the firmware
update.
▶ Wait for the update process to be completed. It might take a few minutes.
Any system configuration change is not recommended during the update
process.
CAUTION
If the process is interrupted, the BMC may be permanently corrupted.
Do not interrupt the BMC upgrade process after it has started.
▶ BMC will reboot after the firmware is completely updated. Please wait for
BMC to complete the system reboot.
▶ Once the reboot process is complete, BMC web interface will return to the
login screen, and you will need to log in to the system again.
If the BMC does not work after flashing, disconnect the system from the
mains and reconnect it again.
