8.6 Adjusting the hook thread tension

Correct setting
The hook thread tension must be set so as to achieve a sewing
pattern as shown in Fig. 2 top in Chapter Adjusting the needle
thread tension ( Chap. 8.2, p. 16).
With a recommended hook thread tension of 25 g, for example
(measured with a full bobbin), set 12.5 g at the brake spring, and
12.5 g at the tension spring.
The basic setting for the tension spring is as follows:
The bobbin casing must slowly drop due to its own mass with a
full bobbin.
The brake spring prevents the bobbin running on when trimming
the thread.

WARNING
Risk of injury due to moving parts
Switch off the sewing machine before you replace
the hook thread bobbin.
