Before changing the spring preload, make a note of the present setting, e.g., by measuring the length of the spring.

Measure distance
With another person holding the motorcycle, the rider, wearing a full set of pro-
tective clothing, sits on the motorcycle in the normal sitting position (feet on the
footrests) and bounces up and down a few times until the rear suspension levels

The other person now measures the distance between the rear axle and the fixed
point again.
Make a note of the value as measurement

The riding sag is the difference between measurements
Check the riding sag.

If the riding sag differs from the specified measurement:
Adjust the riding sag.

Remove the shock absorber.
After removing the shock absorber, clean it thoroughly.
Loosen screw
Turn adjusting ring
Combination wrench (50329080000)
Hook wrench (T106S)
Measure the overall spring length when not under tension.
Tighten the spring by turning adjusting ring

Depending on the static sag and/or the riding sag, it may be necessary to
increase or decrease the spring preload.
Tighten screw
