3. Installation

3.1 Site Preparation

• The recommended mounting position is vertical wall mount.
• Mount the inverter/charger on a solid vertical surface made of non-flammable construction materials.
• Choose a mounting location that is closest to the main battery bank.
• Mounting location should be cool, dry and well ventilated.

3.2 Inverter Installation

• See 1.3 Package Contents to ensure all necessary parts are available for the inverter/charger installation and
operation.
• Mark the mounting location(s) where the inverter/charger will be installed.
• Install the inverter/charger at a height for ease of visibility of LCD display at all times.
• The ambient temperature should be between 0°C and 55°C to ensure optimal operation.
• Be sure to keep other objects and surfaces as shown in the diagram to guarantee sufficient heat dissipation and to
have enough space for proper clearance of wiring and communication connections.
• Keyhole slots and fixed hole have an 8 mm diameter. Keyhole-to-keyhole, center-to-center spacing for mounting
the inverter is 300 mm. Horizontal center-to-center spacing is 324 mm.

3.3 Battery Sizing and Wiring Connections

CAUTION: Select "Deep Cycle" batteries for your application to receive optimum performance from your Inverter/
Charger. Do not use starting batteries or batteries rated in Cold Cranking Amps (CCA). If the batteries you connect
to the Inverter/Charger are not true Deep Cycle batteries, their operational lifetimes may be significantly shortened. If
you are using the same battery bank to power the Inverter/Charger as well as DC loads, your battery bank will need
to be appropriately sized (larger loads will require a battery bank with a larger amp-hour capacity) or the operational
lifetimes of the batteries may be significantly reduced.
Batteries of either Wet-Cell (vented) or Gel-Cell /Absorbed Glass Mat (sealed) construction are ideal. 6-volt "golf
cart," Marine Deep-Cycle or 8D Deep-Cycle batteries in series-parallel connection are also acceptable. Auxiliary
batteries must be identical to the vehicle batteries if they are connected to each other. Batteries can produce
extremely high currents. Review both the important safety instructions at the beginning of this manual and the
battery supplier's precautions before installing the inverter and batteries.
