Check belt finger clearance:
• Engage attachment clutch lever and traction clutch
lever and ensure that belt finger located opposite belt
idler is less than 3.2 mm (1/8") from belt, but not
touching the belt.
• If necessary, adjust clearance by loosening belt finger
hardware, repositioning belt finger and tightening
hardware.
6.
Reinstall belt cover, position under tapping screws and
tighten screws.
7.
Reinstall brush lock trigger onto handlebar and secure
with machine screw and lock washer. See Figure 6.
8.
Reposition brush lock cable in J-clamp on engine
mount.
9.
Reconnect spark plug wire and fill fuel tank.

BOTTOM COVER REMOVAL
Remove Bottom Cover
IMPORTANT: Save all hardware for reinstallation.
1.
Turn engine key to off position, remove key and close
fuel valve.
2.
Wait for all moving parts to stop and for hot parts to
cool.
3.
Disconnect spark plug wire.
4.
Separate brush from frame. See Separate Brush From
Frame on page 7.
WARNING: AVOID INJURY. Before rotating unit
forward, drain fuel from tank and fuel system.
See Draining Fuel System on page 7. Ensure
that unit is secure and will not tip.

5.
Slowly rotate tractor / frame forward onto engine
sheave. Protect sheave so it does not incur damage.
CAUTION: AVOID ENGINE DAMAGE. DO NOT
leave unit in service position for longer than 30
minutes. Allow 30 minutes for oil to return to
crankcase before starting engine.
6.
Remove hardware retaining bottom cover and remove
cover
