Remove Right Axle Bushing

IMPORTANT: Save all hardware for reinstallation.
WARNING: AVOID INJURY. Before rotating unit
forward, drain fuel from tank and fuel system.
See Draining Fuel System on page 7. Ensure
that unit is secure and will not tip.
1.
Turn engine key to off position, remove key and close
fuel valve.
2.
Wait for all moving parts to stop and for hot parts to
cool.
3.
Disconnect spark plug wire.
4.
Separate brush from frame and remove bottom cover.
See Separate Brush From Frame on page 7 and
Bottom Cover Removal on page 10.
5.
Remove snap clips from axle ends and remove
wheels and axle keys. Take care not to lose axle keys.
See Figure 22.
IMPORTANT: Sleeve bushing between inside frame and
pinion gear (not shown) will fall when pinion shaft is
removed from pinion gear.
6.
Remove left spring clip from pinion shaft and slide
pinion shaft and flat steel washer out from pinion gear.
It is not necessary to completely remove pinion shaft
from tractor frame. See Figure 83.

Remove pinion gear from chain.

Remove differential gear. See Differential Gear

9.
Remove e-clip from axle, slide long axle to right and
remove differential from short axle.
See Figure 84.
10. Remove E-ring from right axle end.
11. Remove roll pin from axle.

12. Slide long axle out from differential gear far enough to
gain access to differential gear. It is not necessary to

fully remove long axle.
