6 Troubleshooting

Ladder Monitor Troubleshooting

This section describes how to handle errors when using the Ladder Monitor.
If the corresponding error is not listed or if operation is not performed normally after the recovery pro-
cess, the system has become unstable. Restart the NA Unit in such a case.
Execute a system recovery procedure if operation is not performed normally even after the restart.
When Ladder Monitor Starts Up
Symptom
Error occurred and the
Ladder Monitor does
not start up.
Startup is slow.
During Ladder Monitor Operation
Symptom
Error occurred and the
header is flashing in
red.
Power flow is not dis-
played.

Cause
The ladder program has not been trans-
ferred.
The controller model does not match that
set in the project settings.
The SD Memory Card cannot be
accessed.
The ladder program is huge.
The controller is not started.
Cause
There are differences between the ladder
programs of the HMI and controller.
A communications error occurred so the
data cannot be acquired.
The variable information is being
acquired.
An unsupported variable is assigned to
the circuit.
There are differences between the ladder
programs of the HMI and controller.
Correction
Add a check to the ladder program and
then download again.
Correct the controller model and then
download again.
Check whether or not the SD Memory
Card is mounted.
Check that the SD card allows reading
and writing to be performed normally
using a PC or other device.
Also, use an SD Memory Card recom-
mended by OMRON.
The time required to start the Ladder Mon-
itor is influenced by the size of the ladder
program.
Design the system in consideration of the
startup time.
Start the controller.
Correction
Update the data in the project to the latest
state and then download the ladder pro-
gram to the HMI.
Check the connections between the HMI
and the controller.
Wait until the acquisition of the variable
information is complete.
Refer to 2-2-7 Displaying Ladder Circuit
on page 2-9 for the details on unsupported
variables.
