CHECKING THE EXHAUST SYSTEM

9 Always let the exhaust system cool prior
to touching exhaust components.
9 Do not start the engine when cleaning
the exhaust system.
1. Check
9 Exhaust chamber assembly
9 Muffler
Cracks/damage → Replace.
Exhaust gas leaks → Replace the gasket.
2. Check:
9 Tightening torque
Exhaust manifold bolt
9 Nm (0.9 m•kg, 6.5 ft•lb)
Exhaust chamber bolt 2
18 Nm (1.8 m•kg, 13 ft•lb)
Muffler bolt 3
18 Nm (1.8 m•kg, 13 ft•lb)
