7. Lighting coil resistance
9Disconnect the lighting coil coupler from
the wire harness.
9Connect the pocket tester ("Ω×1" range) to
the lighting coil terminal as shown.
Positive tester probe → white 1
Negative tester probe → black 2

9Measure the charge coil resistance.
Lighting coil resistance
0.57–0.69 Ω at 20°C (68°F)
(between white and black)
9Is the lighting coil OK?
YES
8. Ignition control switch
9Check the ignition control switch for conti-
nuity. Refer to "CHECKING THE SWITCH-
ES".
9Is the ignition control switch OK?
YES

Replace the stator
coil assembly.

Replace the ignition
control switch.
