4.9.2 Repair procedures

To remove the thermistor

Does the measured resistance of the
thermistor match with the
temperature determined resistance?

Indoor unit air (room) thermistor
Prerequisite: Stop the unit operation via the user interface.
Prerequisite: Turn OFF the respective circuit breaker.
Prerequisite: Remove the required plate work, see
1 Cut the tie strap that fixes the thermistor to the switch box and remove the
thermistor from the switch box.

2 Cut all tie straps that fix the thermistor harness and route the harness out of
the retainers.
3 Disconnect the thermistor connector from the appropriate PCB and remove
the thermistor.
Other refrigerant side thermistors
Prerequisite: Stop the unit operation via the user interface.
Prerequisite: Turn OFF the respective circuit breaker.
Prerequisite: Remove the required plate work, see
1 Locate the thermistor that needs to be removed.
2 If applicable, remove the insulation or putty from the thermistor. Keep the
putty for reuse.
3 Pull the clip that fixes the thermistor.
Action
Thermistor is OK. Return to the
troubleshooting of the specific error
and continue with the next procedure.
