The pivot kit is shown in Fig 15 (posts are shown at the top, then back plates and metal
springs at the bottom).
Remove the face seal as described above (M-100/M-200 and M-300 Series only). With
visor in the up position, pull down on metal spring and pull out to remove (Fig 16).
Remove the frame. If replacing frame or pivot kit, remove post with red "3M" from visor
frame by placing the frame on the edge of a table, resting on the post, and press down
forcefully on the visor frame with heel of hand. If replacing pivot kit, lift back plate up
slightly and slide out from slot on headgear shell to remove (Fig 17). Use a tool if
necessary.
The replacement post should be inserted into the frame so the '3M' is positioned the
correct way up when the product is worn. Insert the replacement back plate (round edge
first and with the 'fan' pattern facing to the outside of the helmet - Fig 18). Line up the
visor frame over the attachment slots and slide the spring into place (Fig 19). Note: The
visor frame should be in the fully open or closed position before the spring is installed.
Replacement visor frame buttons.
Follow instructions for visor replacement above and insert replacement buttons.
Visor gasket replacement.
Pull the black visor gasket slowly from the groove (Fig 20). Install the new gasket by
aligning with the edge of the groove. Press the gasket firmly and fully into the groove.
Forehead comfort pad.
Detach the comfort pad from the headband. Wrap the replacement comfort pad around
the headband and re-attach (Fig 21).
Head, neck and shoulder cover (M-100/M-200/M-300 Series only).
Remove the black visor gasket from the groove (Fig 20). Insert headtop into cover and
pull the air inlet fully through the opening in the back of the cover. Insert the gasket on the
cover firmly and fully into the groove on the top of the visor frame.
Flame resistant headtop cover.
Remove the black visor gasket from the groove (Fig 20). Insert the gasket on the cover
firmly and fully into the groove on the top of the visor frame. Pull loop on headtop cover
over the air inlet on the headtop.
The air inlet fits through the hole in the back of the cover. Note: If fitting the cover in
combination with the ear muff assembly, please see the ear muff assembly instructions
below.
Chin strap.
Attach the chin strap to the attachment points on the head suspension (Fig 22).
Headtop mounted ear muff assembly (M-100/M-200/M-300 Series only).
Locate the attachment points (Fig 23 and 24 ). As worn, the right side mount is marked
'X' and the left side mount is marked 'O' (Fig 25). The earmuff should be attached as
shown in Fig 26.
Use a screwdriver to push in the attachment points before screwing the ear muff
assembly as tightly as possible to the shell.
Note: If using the ear muff assembly in combination with the flame resistant headtop
cover, the attached ear muffs must first be pulled through the slits in the headtop cover
before pulling the loop on the cover over the air inlet.
