19. ADJUSTMENTS FOR BUTTONHOLE LEVER POSITION

Check
1. If the machine dose not sew even with the but-
tonhole lever all the way down, it means that the
buttonhole lever is not positioned properly. Also, if
the buttonhole lever is not positioned properly, the
machine will sew buttonhole as shown or incor-
rectly.
2. Set the machine to service program menu 2 press
key No 6.
3. Attach the one step buttonhole foot.
4. Lower the presser foot and the buttonhole lever.
5. Pull the presser foot frame frontward about 1cm
while lifting the presser foot lever slightly.
Insert 0.3 gauge between the buttonhole lever and
buttonhole foot.
Then slowly move the frame backward. Lower the
lever when sensor program "BH-FORE" changes
to black from white.
6. At this time, the presser foot frame should be
about 1mm frontward from the extreme end.
If it is not in correct position, adjust as follows:
Adjustment
1. Pull the presser foot frame 1mm frontward from
the extreme end, and lower the presser foot.
2. Remove the light cover.
3. See the machine from the right side. Insert the 0.3
mm gauge between the buttonhole lever and but-
tonhole. Turn the eccentric pin (a) left or right so
that the sensor program "BH-FORE" just changes
to black from white. Then remove the gauge, the
box should turn to white.
4. Re-check the buttonhole lever position when ad-
justments have been completed.s
