8. Remarks

Maintaining Your Machine

To maintain high print quality, clean the following parts and units regularly.

Cleaning the machine

Wipe the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Then wipe it with a dry cloth to remove the water.
• Do not use chemical cleaner or organic solvents, such as thinner or benzene. If they get into the
machine or melt plastic parts, a failure might occur.
• Do not clean parts other than those specified in this manual. Such parts should be cleaned by your
service representative.
Cleaning the Machine
This section explains how to clean the machine.
Wipe the machine with a soft, dry cloth. If this does not remove the dirt, wipe the machine with a damp
and tightly wrung cloth. If a damp cloth still does not remove the dirt, try using a mild detergent. After
using a damp cloth, wipe the machine with a dry cloth to remove the moisture.

Cleaning the Exposure Glass

This section explains how to clean the exposure glass and the scanning glass.

Lift the exposure glass cover or ADF.
