Measurement of Phase Noise
Measuring the phase noise is to measure the stability in the frequency domain. Specify the phase noise
as the sideband power with respect to the output frequency of fundamental RF, measured at each offset
of the carrier frequency and normalized to 1 Hz in measurement bandwidth.
1 Press [Default] to restore the spectrum analyzer;
2 Use a cable to connect the output port of signal generator to RF IN port of the spectrum analyzer;
3 Press [FREQ] >Center frequency >1 GHz，Sweep width >100 kHz；
4 Press [Trace] >Trace type>Trace average；Detection>Average;
5 Press [Peak] to put a marker on the peak of signal;
6 Press [Marker]>Marker mode >Difference△；Marker△Frequency>10kHz；
7 Open marker function >mark noise，as shown in Figure 3-20:
