402 Wheels and tires
Tighten the wheel bolts evenly in a diagonal

pattern in the order indicated until they are
finger-tight.
If the collapsible spare wheel has been moun-

ted, inflate the collapsible spare wheel
(
page 406).

Lowering the vehicle after a wheel change

Place the ratchet wrench onto the hexagon

nut of the jack so that the lettering "AB" is visi-
ble.
To lower the vehicle: turn the ratchet wrench

of the jack counter-clockwise.
Tighten the wheel bolts evenly in a diagonal
#
pattern in the order indicated

maximum of 59 lb-ft (80 Nm).
Then tighten the wheel bolts evenly in a diago-
#
nal pattern in the order indicated
the specified tightening torque of 111 lb-ft
(150 Nm).
& WARNING Risk of accident due to incor-
rect tightening torque
The wheels could come loose if the wheel
bolts or wheel nuts are not tightened to the
prescribed torque.
Ensure that the wheel bolts or wheel

nuts are tightened to the prescribed
tightening torque.
If you are not sure, do not move the vehi-
#
cle. Contact a qualified specialist work-
shop and have the tightening torque
checked immediately.
Check the tire pressure of the newly mounted

wheel and adjust accordingly.
