Performing a Test Cut:
Setting the Pipe Diameter and Plate Origin:
After setting the plate origin, jog the Z axis in the negative direction slowly to bring the torch down to touching, or just
above the surface of the material, within 1/32".
Press the Set button next to TOP OF MATERIAL input box. The TOP OF MATERIAL tells the machine where the surface of
the pipe being cut is located.
Click the Close button to return to the operators panel.
Once on the operators panel, toggle the machine to an Active Run mode to allow the
torch to fire.
The machine and job are now ready to run. Execute the program by clicking the Run
Job button. This will perform the test cut through to completion.
To stop the program at any time, click the red Stop button, this will halt the
program's operation and turn off any activated tools.
The part will be extremely hot once cut, allow the part to cool before removing it
from the machine.
With the part sufficiently cooled, compare the size, angles, and overall cut quality to
the factory test cut provided with the machine.
If desired, load the Weld Coupon.gm file that was created earlier in the users manual
and repeat the performing a Test Cut section to cut the second factory sample, with
a beveled cut on each side.
This concludes the Performing the Test Cut section.
