MC-12

SURROUND EX

@@@
v1.1
Controls the Surround EX decoding feature. When set to AUTO,
the MC-12 engages Surround EX decoding for flagged Surround
EX-encoded THX input sources. The MC-12 does not engage
Surround EX decoding for other THX input sources, including
non-flagged Surround EX-encoded input sources. When set to ON,
the MC-12 engages Surround EX decoding for all THX input
sources. When set to OFF, the MC-12 disengages Surround EX
decoding for all THX input sources. The AUTO setting is not
available for the 5.1a THX listening modes.
When the SHIFT command bank is active, pressing the remote
control THX button selects the appropriate THX listening mode for
the current input source. If the 5.1 THX SurEX listening mode is
selected, subsequent presses adjust the SURROUND EX parameter,
cycling through the AUTO, ON, and OFF settings. If another THX
listening mode is selected, subsequent presses have no effect. If the
5.1 THX SurEX listening mode is selected before the THX button is
first pressed, the first press of the button will adjust the SURROUND
EX parameter setting.
The SURROUND EX parameter is not available when the CUSTOM
SETUP menu SIDE L/R or REAR L/R parameters are set to NONE, or
the THX SETUP menu REAR L/R parameter is set to NONE.
Note:
Toggling the SURROUND EX parameter setting produces low-level
clicks in the front speakers.

The MC-12 will not switch to the assigned analog audio
input connector when the MAIN ADV menu INPUT SELECT
parameter is set to AUTO.
