v Follow the suggested actions in the order in which they are listed in the Action
column until the problem is solved.
v See Chapter 3, "Parts listing, Type 3020," on page 23 to determine which
components are CRUs and which components are FRUs.
v If an action step is preceded by "(Trained service technician only)," that step must
be performed only by a trained service technician.
Symptom
Packets are not getting routed
correctly through the DPPM
Planar voltage fault (power xx V
fault)
DPI blade is incompatible with
BladeCenter unit
VPD serial number not set
TEMP (Over temperature error)
Temperature warning
Action
Packets through the DPI blade are incorrectly modified,
dropped, or not routed to the correct port. Complete the
following steps:
v Click Configuration → App Manager → DPPM and
verify that the RAVE application has been deployed.
Verify that the current application is the RAVE
application that is supposed to be running.
v Verify that the application state of the RAVE
application is Completed and the application status is
Application Active.
v Check the Alarm log for active alarms in the system.
v Make sure that the packets are being received on and
transmitted from the correct interfaces.
– To verify the packets for the front port, click
Hardware → Front → Statistics and click the port
icon. Make sure that the admin state of the
Ethernet port is Enabled and the link LED is green.
– To verify the packets for the back port, click
Hardware → Back → Statistics and click the port
icon. Make sure that the admin state of the
Ethernet port is Enabled and the link LED is green.
v Run the DPI blade diagnostics program and report the
results back to IBM service and support. See
"Diagnostic tools" on page 39 for more information.
1. Reseat the DPI blade.
2. Call for service.
Make sure that the management-module firmware is at
the latest level.
The DPI blade is supported only in IBM BladeCenter H
and BladeCenter HT units.
Replace the DPI blade.
1. Check the function of the BladeCenter unit resources.
2. Make sure that the room temperature is not too high.
See "Features and specifications" on page 3 for
temperature information.
3. Make sure the air path is not blocked.
1. Make sure that the latest version of CPOS is
installed.
2. Make sure that the DPI blade is sufficiently cooled.
3. Make sure that all fillers and blade servers are
installed correctly.
4. Make sure that the front bezel on the DPI blade is
not blocked.
5. Contact service.
